Sam Newman in strife again
Controversial AFL identity Sam Newman is in trouble again with police questioning him over an alleged road-rage incident in Melbourne.
The incident involving The Footy Show star and a woman occurred about 9.15am (AEST) on Friday in Armstrong Street, Middle Park.
"I really can't say anything," Newman told reporters as he left South Melbourne Police Station just before 1pm, accompanied by Nine Network boss Jeff Browne.
Police are interviewing witnesses to the incident and Newman may be charged on summons.
The incident is the latest in a long list of controversies involving the former Geelong star.
In recent years Newman has been involved in a variety of motoring incidents including one in which a girlfriend ran over him and broke his leg.
He also came to prominence when a plumber whose girlfriend Newman was allegedly with punched him.
The Nine Network suspended Newman from his regular spot on The Footy Show this year after distasteful and improper conduct toward Melbourne football writer Caroline Wilson.
In another infamous incident, Newman made lewd remarks concerning then Tasmanian politician Paula Wriedt.
