Bulldogs players in sex assault probe
Coffs Harbour police are investigating an incident involving Bulldogs players for the second year in a row after an alleged assault in the NSW coastal town on Sunday morning.
Bulldogs chief executive Steve Mortimer confirmed an investigation was taking place and said the club was cooperating fully with Coffs Harbour police.
"Coffs Harbour police have informed us that an incident has taken place at the Novotel Pacific Bay Hotel in Coffs Harbour involving Bulldogs players," Mortimer said.
"We have been very willing to assist the police with their inquiries.
"We won't make any further comment."
The Bulldogs were in Coffs Harbour for a trial match against Canberra on Saturday night.
"Coffs Harbour/Clarence police are investigating an alleged assault at a Coffs Harbour resort on Sunday morning," a police spokesman said.
"All parties have not been interviewed so it would be inappropriate to make further comment."
The Bulldogs were under investigation this time last year after a 42-year-old woman alleged she was sexually assaulted by a player in a Coffs Harbour hotel room.
The Bulldogs were eventually cleared of any wrongdoing over that incident.
