No charges against Warriors' Locke
Warriors NRL player Kevin Locke will not face criminal charges over an alleged sexual assault on a woman.
Locke was investigated after an early-morning incident in central Auckland several weeks ago, but police said on Tuesday no charges would be laid.
"The investigation has been completed and there are no grounds to lay criminal charges against him," said police spokesperson Noreen Hegarty.
Early in April the Warriors confirmed Locke was being investigated and his lawyer John Haigh, QC, said he wanted his name to be published to avoid speculation.
He also said Locke wanted to make it clear he had done nothing wrong and he was co-operating fully with police.
Police said noone would be charged over the incident, including the woman, apparently at the centre of the incident.
Locke had been socialising with her earlier in the night.
