Magpies' Dick is latest AFL Rising Star
Collingwood forward Brad Dick's five-goal haul in Monday's 66-point win over Melbourne at the MCG has earned him the round 11 nomination for the AFL's Rising Star award.
The lightweight 20-year-old goalsneak also booted three goals against Port Adelaide in the previous round.
It has been a breakthrough fortnight for the indigenous forward after he had just six career goals to his name from his previous nine matches.
Recruited from East Fremantle, Dick played six games in his debut AFL year in 2007, but then missed the entire 2008 season after seriously injuring his knee in a pre-season game.
He has played five games so far this year.
Dick is Collingwood's second Rising Star nominee of the season, after Jaxson Barham earned the honour in round four.
