Wollongong disregarded a four-game losing start to the NBL season by thrashing West Sydney 132-109 in Wollongong.

The Hawks were never headed, extending their lead in every quarter for easily for their best performance of the season.

Veteran Mat Campbell turned back the clock with a game-high 28 points while Cameron Tragardh backed up his career-high 30 points against Cairns last week with 25.

Hawks playmaker Kavossy Franklin also had 25 and all 10 Hawks scored in a dominant display.

Wollongong held a commanding 65-49 halftime lead and blew the game open at the start of the third term with a 23-9 run for a 88-56 advantage.

Razorbacks import Darnell Hinson topscored with 24 and Liam Rush had 18 but the Pigs had no answer to the Hawks' offensive weapons.

Wollongong's first victory in five games lifts them off the bottom, while the Razorbacks slip to 3-2 and end a three-game winning streak.

The Hawks were without an injured James Peters for a second straight game but he is expected back for next weekend's away clash with the Gold Coast.

The Hawks were white hot from three-point range, shooting 18-of-29 with Campbell making 7-of-10 threes.

Wollongong coach Eric Cooks said it was pleasing to have such a great scoring night.

"We've looked like that at training and now we've done that at a game," Cooks said.

"Getting that first win is a real monkey off our back.

"We always knew we were better than 0-4 having played what I consider three of the top four teams and also West Sydney were in great form coming into this game.

"But it's a shot in the arm for us and something we can build on for sure."

Cooks was full of praise for Campbell.

"Matty's been playing great and he deserves a shooting night like this. He was awesome for us tonight.

Tragardh described the Hawks scoring options as "scary".

"We're capable of big scoring nights and Cookie always encourages us if we're open to shoot the ball.

"It wasn't a surprise to us to have a big night like we did."
