Pratt out of French Open
Nicole Pratt bowed out of the French Open with a second-round defeat to Czech No.25 seed Lucie Safarova.
Safarova, who is ranked No.29 in the world, was far too strong for Pratt, winning easily 6-0 6-1.
It was the fifth time Pratt had reached the second round at Roland Garros, but she has never progressed any further.
The 34-year-old Queensland veteran, who is ranked No.45, overcame a strained arm muscle to beat Italy's Flavia Pennetta 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 in the first round.
Pratt will next head to Britain for the grass-court season.
Her Paris exit leaves Lleyton Hewitt and Samantha Stosur as the only Australians in the singles main draw, with both set to play third-round matches.
