Scud comeback continues
Mark Philippoussis will continue his comeback on Friday night when he meets Armenian qualifier Sargis Sargsian in the third round of the Australian Open.
Philippoussis upset tournament 11th seed Paradorn Srichaphan two nights ago and if he wins again it would equal his best result at the Open.
While the Australian trotted out the "one match at a time" mantra after beating Srichaphan, he admitted to feeling he could go all the way this month.
"There is another match to go, I'm just looking at that match," he said.
"My mind is just on that match.
"(But) I think I can win the tournament. I'm enjoying myself and I'm here."
Philippoussis had to pull out of his last Grand Slam tournament when he re-injured his left knee at the US Open six months ago.
But his form has been encouraging since resuming last month at the Indian Open.
Compatriot Nicole Pratt will start centre court action today when she plays 23rd seed Paola Suarez of Argentina.
The tournament's second seeds will follow - Venus Williams playing German Anca Barna and Andre Agassi starting a strong favourite against French 29th seed Nicolas Escude.
