Souths to play Warrington in trial
NRL club South Sydney have announced they will play a trial match against UK Super League side Warrington in February at Coffs Harbour.
The game on the NSW north coast is sure to attract plenty of attention in the UK, with Rabbitohs' new coach for 2012 Matt Maguire a former Wigan mentor, while Souths snared centre Matt King from Warrington.
Add to that, Souths have three Burgess brothers, with star England international backrower Sam, older brother Luke, who makes his debut against Cronulla on Sunday, and the youngest George, who is playing for Rabbitohs' feeder club North Sydney.
The match will be played on February 4 at BCU International Stadium.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for South Sydney and Warrington ... we're really looking forward to the international flavour this game will bring to the Coffs Coast region," Rabbitohs' boss Shane Richardson said.
"Warrington is currently at the top of the English Super League ladder so it will be a great test for our team leading into next season under our new coach."
There will be a host of current and former international players from Australia, England and New Zealand involved in the game.
Warrington line-up includes the likes 2002 Sydney Roosters' premiership-winning forward Adrian Morley, the Monaghan brothers Michael and Joel and Brett Hodgson.
