New Cronulla signing Ben Ross is in doubt for the NRL trial match against Newcastle on Saturday night with a rib injury.
Ross is travelling with the Sharks to Coffs Harbour for the match but may be ruled out.
He is expected to be fit for Cronulla's season opener against Brisbane on March 18, with the Shark's having the bye in round one.
The Sharks signed the front-rower from Penrith as their forward linchpin after long-serving prop Jason Stevens retired at the end of last season.
