Burgess junior gets start with Souths
South Sydney have wasted no time getting star English import Sam Burgess' younger brother into a Rabbitohs jersey, naming him to play a trial match against the Newtown Jets at Redfern Oval next Saturday.
George Burgess, 18, who was signed on a two-year deal from the Bradford Bulls in December, will start at prop alongside captain Ben Ross, who will make his comeback after missing the last two seasons with a serious neck injury.
The 23-man squad, which is made up of players from the Rabbitohs' Toyota Cup grand final team and the club's feeder club, the North Sydney Bears, includes two famous rugby league surnames.
Anthony Mundine's cousin Matt has been named at five-eighth and ex-Bears back Greg Florimo's son Jay will start from the bench.
Promising fullback Malcolm Webster is the cousin of Titans star Preston Campbell and Greg Inglis, who finally secured a move to the Rabbitohs from the Melbourne Storm in December.
South Sydney will play St George Illawarra in the Charity Shield match on February 13, with the club's final trial against the Gold Coast at Coffs Harbour on February 19.
