Raiders' Weyman could miss eight weeks
Canberra forward Michael Weyman is facing up to eight weeks on the sidelines after being charged with two separate striking offences by the NRL match review committee on Monday.
Weyman has been charged with grade four striking for punching Gold Coast's Daniel Conn in the 67th minute of Saturday's 32-12 loss to the Titans.
He has also been charged with grade one striking for a 55th minute incident in which his forearm made contact with the head of Titans centre Luke O'Dwyer.
Early guilty pleas to both charges from Weyman would mean he misses six weeks but, if he is found guilty of both at the NRL judiciary, he will sit out eight matches.
Weyman's seemingly unprovoked punch on Conn while in possession left the Gold Coast interchange forward with a bloodied face and broken nose.
Meanwhile, Melbourne's Adam Blair has been charged with grade one contrary conduct over his alleged "chicken wing" tackle on Brisbane's Michael Ennis on Friday.
He will escape punishment with an early guilty plea and would miss one match with an unsuccessful defence at the judiciary.
Parramatta pair Joel Reddy and Brett Finch have been slapped with grade one dangerous throw charges for their tackle on North Queensland's Luke O'Donnell on Saturday.
They will both escape with early guilty pleas or will miss one game if they unsuccessfully contest the charges.
Cowboys forward Carl Webb will escape any punishment despite being charged with a grade one careless high tackle on Eels skipper Nathan Cayless.
