Solomon charge referred to AFL tribunal
Fremantle's Dean Solomon will face the AFL tribunal on Tuesday night to learn his fate for his crude elbow on Geelong star Cameron Ling that put the Cat in hospital.
The AFL match review panel has sent Solomon's case straight to the tribunal to determine a penalty and he is facing a hefty stint on the sidelines for striking Ling.
The panel hit Sydney forward Amon Buchanan with a five-match ban and West Coast's Daniel Kerr with four, though both can have their penalties reduced by one match if they plead guilty.
Buchanan was charged with engaging in rough conduct for a heavy shoulder charge to the head of Hawthorn's Luke Hodge during the Swans' 31-point loss at the MCG on Sunday.
Kerr has been charged with striking Richmond's Matt White during the Eagles' heavy defeat by the Tigers at Subiaco Oval on Sunday.
