Origin hopeful Carroll to fight charge
Queensland lock Tonie Carroll will be free to play in the State of Origin decider if he beats a grade two striking charge at the NRL judiciary.
Brisbane's Carroll was charged over two separate incidents involving Canberra halfback Mark McLinden.
He pleaded guilty to a grade one striking charge and will serve a one-match suspension on Sunday when the Broncos play South Sydney.
That will allow state selectors to add him to the Queensland squad if he escapes further penalty.
