Stosur struck by mystery viral infection
Australia's Samantha Stosur has been forced to pull out of her third-round mixed doubles match at Wimbledon after being struck down with a mystery viral infection.
Stosur was due to team up with American partner Bob Bryan to play French duo Fabrice Santoro and Severine Bremond.
But the match ended up being a walkover for the French after Stosur succumbed to the illness.
No details were known about the infection or any treatment the Gold Coast player was receiving.
It is unknown whether Stosur's illness will affect her women's doubles quarter final she is expected to play on Friday alongside American Lisa Raymond.
Stosur and Raymond are top seeds for the event.
