Simpson reaches the land of the Giants
Australian centre Jamie Simpson linked up with Huddersfield on Wednesday but admits it will be at least a week before he is ready to make his Super League debut.
The 24-year-old South Sydney three-quarter signed for the Giants last month but red tape held up his arrival and he will watch Saturday's opening fixture against Warrington at the Millennium Stadium from the sidelines.
Simpson, who has been training with his old club while waiting for his visa, said: "I'm very, very excited to be here. It's been a long trip for me but it's all good and I'm delighted to be here.
"The temperature has been a bit of a shock - it was 40 degrees when I left Sydney - but I'm just so happy to finally be here now.
"I think Browny (coach Nathan Brown) is going to ease me in gently. There was a chance I might have had have a run at training today but I'm a bit too jet-lagged.
"On Friday I'm hopefully going to have a little bit of a run and hopefully next week get into the full swing of things with the boys."
