Catalans close in on Grand Final spot
Unheralded Catalans Dragons defeated Huddersfield 16-6 on Friday to move just one match away from a shock maiden appearance in the Super League Grand final.
The Perpignan club have now won three post-season games, seeing off mighty St Helens, Wakefield and now Huddersfield, the Challenge Cup runners-up.
Tries in the final quarter from winger Dimitri Pelo and second rower Olivier Elima eventually settled the preliminary semi-final.
Catalans now take on either Leeds or St Helens in next weekend's semi-finals as they seek to emulate Australian club Parramatta in reaching the Grand final from eighth place.
