Gold Coast fullback William Zillman has been put on report for an alleged bite on South Sydney's Jamie Simpson in the Friday night NRL clash at ANZ Stadium.

Simpson made an on-field complaint to referees Tony Archer and Gerard Sutton in the 12th minute and named Zillman as the culprit.

"Look at the bite mark," said Simpson to the referees, displaying his right forearm.

"It was Zillman."

Archer and Sutton put the incident on report and, due to the fact a complaint was made on the field, Zillman is expected to be sent directly to the NRL judiciary next week.
