Swans' Jesse White gets Rising Star nod
Young Sydney key forward Jesse White is the final AFL Rising Star nominee for the season.
White, 21, kicked three goals and took 10 marks in Saturday night's eight-point loss to Brisbane.
He made his debut in the round-six draw against North Melbourne last year and has played 18 games this year.
White is showing promise as a key forward and the Swans will try to develop him in that role following the departures of Barry Hall and Michael O'Loughlin.
The Swans have signed the Gold Coast recruit to a contract extension until the end of 2012.
The AFL will honour White and the 21 other weekly nominees at an awards function in Melbourne this Wednesday.
Brisbane first-year midfielder Daniel Rich, who was nominated after round one, is strongly favoured to take out this year's overall award.
