Tigers chase 348 for victory
Tasmania required 348 runs in its second innings with just over a day to play for an unlikely Pura Cup victory against Western Australia at the WACA in Perth.
The Warriors took a 171-run first innings lead on Tuesday after bowling Tasmania out for 234. After electing not to enforce the follow-on, the home side was dismissed for just 176 in its second knock to give the visitors an outside chance at victory.
Chris Rogers top-scored in WA's second knock with 73 and Beau Casson added 37, but no other batsman passed 20 in a dismal effort that has kept the Tigers in the game.
Scott Kremerskothen and Darren McNees starred with the ball, both taking three wickets, while Adam Griffith and Ben Hilfenhaus claimed two each.
The Tigers will now attempt to overhaul the unlikely target, but are at least boosted by in-form opener Michael DiVenuto and the return from injury of Michael Bevan.
