Rogers belts Tigers attack
Chris Rogers' quickfire century put Western Australia on course to set Tasmania an imposing final day run chase at the WACA Ground.
The home side collected its first Pura Cup points of the summer but not before some late-order resistance from the competition leaders.
In reply to WA's 437, the Tigers were dismissed for 380 in their first innings, Sean Clingeleffer leading the tail with a patient 79.
The Warriors were 1-231 in their second dig at stumps on day three, a lead of 288 runs, with Chris Rogers (116no) and Murray Goodwin (50no) at the crease.
Stand-in captain Michael Hussey (61) set the pace with a rapid half century then Rogers blossomed following his skipper's departure.
The left-hander scored his hundred off just 119 balls with a cover drive for four off Damien Wright's bowling.
The 26-year-old had hit 18 fours and a six by the close in a thoroughly entertaining effort.
Hussey would have been delighted with the frenetic scoring speed of his team - 211 runs in the final session - as he should be wary about setting a small target on a batting-friendly deck.
WA was scorched last month when Justin Langer set NSW 303 runs off 52 overs at the SCG and Steve Waugh and Simon Katich hauled it in.
But Hussey also knows his side needs maximum points to get back into contention in the four-day competition.
