Swans' injury woes worsen
Sydney's injury woes worsened leading into the AFL finals, with Michael O'Loughlin definitely sidelined and Daryn Cresswell also in doubt.
West Coast defender David Wirrpunda is an unlikely starter this weekend, while Fremantle forward Jeff Farmer will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness.
The injury news was also not good for Brisbane, with Aaron Shattock out for at least a fortnight because of minor knee surgery.
Those four teams had woeful luck with injury last Saturday ahead of the finals.
O'Loughlin was diagnosed with a grade-one hamstring tear, suffered in the last three minutes of the win over Melbourne.
He will be out for at least a fortnight, while Cresswell is also now in doubt with an adductor muscle injury.
"Hopefully the boys can get up and have a good win (on Sunday) and have a week off. I'm just going to manage it for the next week or so and see how it goes," O'Loughlin said.
Coach Paul Roos said the Swans were "certainly not ruling him (Cresswell) out" for Sunday's away qualifying final against Port Adelaide.
In Perth, Wirrpunda was diagnosed with a slight hamstring strain after the Saturday night derby loss to Fremantle, which had the two clubs' medical staff working overtime.
Eagle Adam McDougall was having more tests on his fractured jaw, which has already sidelined him for Saturday's away elimination final against Adelaide.
