Cresswell quits Geelong to join Brisbane
Geelong assistant coach Daryn Cresswell has resigned his position and will take up a similar role with the Brisbane Lions.
Cresswell spent the 2004 AFL season as an assistant coach with the Cats after retiring from 244-game career with Sydney.
"Daryn has told us the reason behind the move is purely family based," Geelong chief Brian Cook said.
Cresswell said that he was disappointed to be leaving after just one season but that his family had to come first.
"I am very appreciative for the opportunity that the Geelong Football Club gave me and I would like to thank everyone at the club for making the experience an enjoyable one," Cresswell said.
"This is totally a family decision and not a football decision."
