Form slump continues for Wildcats
The Perth Wildcats continued their horrible NBL form slump at Challenge Stadium on Sunday night when they lost 104-95 to Wollongong.
The Hawks strengthened their grip on top spot, moving to 17-8 for the season, just ahead of second-placed Sydney (16-8).
The Wildcats (12-13) have slipped to seventh behind Townsville (13-13) following their fifth straight loss.
Entrenched in the top four for most of the 2004-05 season, Perth has now lost nine of its past 10 games and is in some danger of missing the playoffs.
Glen Saville was the main weapon for the Hawks, pouring in a game-high 35 points, backed up by Matt Campbell (20) and Darnell Mee (16).
Import Rosell Ellis (23 points) continued his solid season for the Cats, with help from Peter Crawford (17) and Ontario Lett (16).
It doesn't get any easier for Scott Fisher's men, who face games against two-time defending champion Sydney in Darwin and Singapore over the next fortnight.
Wollongong return home for a clash with fellow top-four aspirant Melbourne (13-11).
