Wildcats snap losing streak
Perth has finally snapped a five-game NBL losing streak with a 103-88 win over Sydney in Darwin.
The Wildcats' horrible form slump forced it out of the top four and into a playoff scrap, but the upset win stems the bleeding and keeps alive their chances of a home final.
Two-time defending champion Sydney (17-9 record) would have strengthened its grip on the minor premiership with a win, but has now dropped to second on percentage behind Wollongong (17-9).
The Kings jumped out to an early double-figure lead at Darwin's Marrara Sports Centre, but Perth stormed home for its first win since prior to Christmas.
Tony Ronaldson returned to form with 22 points and 12 boards, while Matt Shanahan produced 11 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds in his 300th game.
Mark Sanford paced Sydney with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
The two teams, who contested the 2003 grand final, will continue their battle in Singapore on Friday.
The Wildcats will be looking for the series sweep in the first regular season game ever held in Asia, after knocking off the Kings in Sydney back in round seven.
