Future grim for Blues badboys
A decision on the possible sacking of two Carlton players accused of a breach of the players' code of conduct will likely be made on Thursday.
Two players, reportedly Laurence Angwin and Karl Norman, were being investigated by the club for an incident at Monday's team meeting.
Club president Ian Collins would not discuss details of the latest infraction, nor confirm the identities of the players, but said they were in-house issues rather than legal issues.
"They're all club issues, the other side of it does not come into play - it's really what's best for the club," Collins said.
"We will follow through on a number of issues that are going over a period of time, and then make the appropriate decision.
"It's a combination of a lot of issues that have been going on over a period of time."
The board met from 4pm on Tuesday after Collins discussed the status of the two players with the team leaders.
He emerged from Optus Oval just before 9pm, saying the board may not need to meet again before Thursday's decision and the playing group would support the board.
"The players' attitude was pretty good," Collins said.
"They know what we're trying to do with the club and how we're trying to resurrect it and they're pretty supportive of what decision we arrive at if and when we do it."
