Dunning, Tuiavii fined $5000 each
NSW forwards Matt Dunning and Des Tuiavii were each fined $5,000 after "the two silly guys" pleaded guilty to breaches of the NSW Rugby Union code of conduct.
The committee ruled the behaviour of both prop Dunning and flanker Tuiavii in the early hours of May 13 was "totally unacceptable and cannot be tolerated at any level of the game of rugby".
Dunning broke Tuiavii's nose while the latter was accused of spitting and vomiting on student Geoff O'Hare and slapping the same person over the head with a thong during the Waratahs' post-season celebrations in the Sydney CBD.
The two men will line up on opposing sides on Thursday when Tuiavii turns out for Samoa against Dunning's Waratahs at Aussie Stadium.
Each player accepted the decision of the four man conduct committee headed by barrister Terry Willis and both stressed they had made up and regarded each other as friends.
"We were hugging inside, it's been worked out," Tuiavii said.
"Matty is a friend of mine and he's my team-mate.
"It was just two silly guys who went crazy that night."
Tuiavii said he had also apologised to O'Hare, who had emailed media organisations with details of the incident.
"I sent my apologies to the guy and met him personally and I had an orange juice with him and sorted things out," Tuiavii said.
