Blues lose Jamison, Ellard
Carlton have lost fullback Michael Jamison for the club's first two home and away matches of the AFL season, after he admitted to rough conduct.
The Blues will also be without young tagger David Ellard for the season opener against Richmond on March 24.
But Jamison's loss will be more sorely felt, with the key defender the club's obvious first-choice opponent for the Tigers' Coleman Medallist Jack Riewoldt.
Jamison will also miss a Gabba clash with the Gold Coast nine days later, which will be the Suns' AFL debut.
The key defender was handed the two-match ban over a high hit on Adelaide forward Ricky Henderson during a practice match last Friday.
Ellard was banned for a game, after admitting to rough conduct against Crows midfielder Scott Thompson.
The 22-year-old established himself in Carlton's side late last season, playing the club's last seven games, including their elimination final loss to Sydney.
West Coast's Luke Shuey accepted a reprimand, over a rough conduct incident involving Collingwood's Tom Hunter in Saturday night's NAB Cup semi-final in Perth.
Carlton's Bryce Gibbs will pay a $900 fine for making negligent contact with an umpire.
