Police investigate Farina-journo clash
Police are investigating a television presenter's claim he was assaulted by Socceroos coach Frank Farina after Australia's international against Iraq.
Farina is alleged to have clashed with SBS reporter Andrew Orsatti in the dressing room tunnel after the Socceroos' 2-1 win at Telstra Stadium on Saturday night.
SBS and Farina have both made complaints to the sport's Australian governing body over the incident.
SBS head of sport Les Murray said in a statement there had been a "serious incident" involving Farina and Orsatti.
"As a consequence SBS has lodged an official complaint with the Football Federation of Australia," Murray said.
He also said Orsatti had made a statement to police and would not be making any public comment.
NSW police said detectives were investigating an allegation of assault after the match following a complaint from a 29-year-old man. No charges had been laid.
Farina acknowledged there had been a post-match incident and said he'd laid a complaint with the FFA over it.
"I was approached at an inappropriate time as I was on the way to the press conference, which is unacceptable," Farina told the Seven Network's Sportsworld program.
"And I reacted. I don't think you should be approached in that manner in the dressing room tunnel.
