Hawks keep finals campaign on track
The Wollongong Hawks continued their march towards a top two finish in the NBL with a hard fought 95-90 win over the Townsville Crocodiles at the Swamp.
Versatile forward Glen Saville continued his love-affair with Townsville's home court, hitting a game high 29 points, followed by Ben Knight with 12 points.
The Crocs struggled to find their offensive rhythm but still crept to within two points midway through the final term.
Andrew Goodwin led the way with 18 points, while skipper Robert Rose and Ruben Nembhard chipped in with 15 apiece.
The loss leaves Townsville needing to win in Cairns against the Taipans to have any chance of making the playoffs.
The Hawks' stifling defence was the catalyst for the win, keeping the Crocs to a woeful 31 per cent shooting percentage in the first half, helping the visitors to a seven point lead at the main break.
