We won't fear Wigan say struggling Quins
Former Manly hooker Chad Randall insists a trip to Super League champions Wigan holds no fear for Harlequins - despite the Londoners failing to win any of their last eight matches.
Quins, with rookie boss Rob Powell at the helm, made a stunning start to the campaign with four wins in their opening five matches - including shock victories at Leeds and St Helens.
But reality has bitten since with Randall and his team-mates losing seven and drawing one to drop to tenth in the table.
The Warriors, under outgoing coach Michael Maguire who will be joining the South Sydney Rabbitohs next season, have been in ominous form with four wins on the spin.
But, after being part of the side that recorded a 38-26 win at the DW Stadium last season, Randall believes history can repeat itself.
"It's a daunting trip for any of the teams in the competition but we've got to enjoy it like we did a year ago," said Randall, who scored a try in the 70-0 thrashing of Gateshead Thunder in the Challenge Cup last weekend.
"That was a memorable result for the club and we've already proved this season we can produce results at places like Leeds and Saints.
"There has been a little dip in confidence and it's not easy with a small squad like we've got but if we perform how we are capable of there's no reason why we can't get a win.
"Wigan are coming into top form but we've got to look forward to the challenge that they bring - they are going to be the team to beat again this season.
"There will be a big, expectant crowd at the game but if we quieten them early on then we are capable of getting back to winning ways."
Former Penrith Panthers forward Tony Puletua has handed St Helens a huge boost ahead of their trip to fellow high-fliers Huddersfield by signing a new deal with Royce Simmons' side.
The ex-New Zealand international had been linked with a switch to rivals Warrington and with captain James Graham already heading for the NRL next season his exit would have come as a huge blow.
But the 31-year-old has signed for two more years and said: "They are the only Super League club that I would consider playing for.
"I've enjoyed every aspect of my time here so far, particularly the fans who have been absolutely amazing to me.
"The next couple of years are going to be more than exciting for Saints players and it's great to be staying."
Ex-Wests half-back Ben Jeffries has returned to Bradford for the second time and believes he can help the Bulls climb the table.
The 30-year-old has re-signed at Odsal for 18 months on a deal that will take him to ten years in Super League following his arrival at Wakefield in 2002.
"I want to be a big part of this team and club going forward," Jeffries said.
"That will leave me with ten years in this league and I'm not too sure any other Australian players have done that.
"I wouldn't have foreseen that when I first arrived but I've loved living in England and have adapted to the lifestyle.
"We wanted to stay over here and I'm excited to be back at Bradford and hopefully take them forward."
