Wigan keep grand final hopes alive in UK
Wigan bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to Leeds with a 42-18 win over Hull KR on Friday to move within 80 minutes of the Grand Final.
Two tries from winger Darrell Goulding enabled Wigan to turn around an early 14-12 deficit and establish a winning platform by half-time.
Pat Richards also got over the line for his 32nd try of the season and succeeded with all seven attempts at goal - five days after missing three in that 27-26 defeat by Leeds.
Liam Farrell, Thomas Leuluai, Martin Gleeson and Joel Tomkins also crossed for Wigan.
In the next match, they will face either St Helens or the winners of Saturday's second elimination semi-final between Warrington and Huddersfield.
Huddersfield Giants coach Nathan Brown has warned his side they need to produce the complete performance if they are to dispose of Warrington.
The Giants were off colour in the first week of playoffs and were forced to come from behind to edge past Crusaders 18-12 at the Galpharm.
Despite going down to a convincing 28-12 defeat against St Helens last weekend the Wolves have the upper hand on paper heading into the clash, having won all three corresponding fixtures this term as well as defeating them in last season's Challenge Cup final.
And with that record in mind, coach Brown knows his side need to up their game at the Halliwell Jones Stadium against a Warrington side that beat Leeds last month to win a second straight Challenge Cup final.
"Our defence was great, but attack-wise it wasn't so good last week," said Brown.
"We have to make sure we improve a few things, freshen ourselves up and hit the ground running this weekend.
"At this stage of the competition you know you're going to be up against quality sides, they are all there on merit and you know they are all dangerous.
"It's obviously going to be no different at Warrington this week. They've shown their ability in knockout football this season and I'm sure it will be a great game."
