Leeds shatter Dragons grand final hopes
Defending champions Leeds ended the magical playoff run of Catalans Dragons to reach a record-equalling sixth Super League grand final on Friday.
Leeds clinched a 27-20 win and will face either St Helens or Wigan in next Saturday's Old Trafford showpiece.
Winger Ryan Hall took his try tally for the season to 33 as Leeds also kept alive their hopes of a first-ever hat-trick of Super League titles.
England international Hall touched down twice and stand-off Danny McGuire also grabbed two tries as the defending champions ended the Dragons' challenge at Headingley.
Dragons, who were playing a fourth match in England in as many weeks, saw winger Vincent Duport register a hat-trick.
"That was a tough match," said Leeds coach Brian McClennan, who had chosen to play Catalans rather than Wigan. "They were good and dominated for long periods.
"We weren't surprised because they are so big and skillful. It was a good effort by them and they must feel a little bit unlucky."
