Rhinos monitoring Buderus recovery
Leeds Rhinos believe it is too early to tell if Australian hooker Danny Buderus will recover from a broken leg in time to play again this season.
Rhinos assistant coach Willie Poching said Buderus would be in plaster for six weeks after suffering a broken tibia in Friday's 28-10 Super League defeat to Wigan.
The grand final is 11 weeks away.
"We may see him again this season, but maybe we are pushing that a bit," Poching told BBC Radio Leeds.
"Our fingers are crossed we'll see him in a Leeds jersey before the end of the season, but it's too early to fully judge it.
"We are staying optimistic as he is a very tough lad. He hardly showed any signs of pain when he suffered the injury or when he was heading to hospital."
Buderus' debut season for Leeds has already been hampered by a torn biceps muscle and a knee injury.
