Crows coach still admires West Coast
Adelaide coach Neil Craig says he admires the way his West Coast counterpart John Worsfold has kept calm amid their AFL crisis.
Craig, who has weathered his own storm in the Crows' lowly season, still highly values the scalp of West Coast.
The 10th-placed Crows travel to meet the bottom-placed Eagles on Saturday in a fixture Craig acknowledged was not a blockbuster.
"Certainly it's not a heavyweight billing because of where both clubs sit on the premiership table," Craig said on Thursday.
The Crows coach expressed admiration for the Eagles sticking firm despite their season returning just three wins.
"The club over there, as an outsider from a long way looking in, I like the way the club has kept calm," Craig said on Thursday.
"I like the way John Worsfold has kept calm with the pressure that you face."
Worsfold's tenure as Eagles coach has been questioned due to their lack of recent success, but Craig said his club maintained a healthy respect for West Coast.
"Any win against West Coast we'll value. Our record against West Coast is pretty poor," he said.
"We have had two prelims (preliminary finals) against them and bowed out.
"Our performances over there, it's 2005 since we have beat them over there.
"We have played them when we have been in good shape and they haven't been in great shape and they have beaten us.
"And where we sit at the moment, we value any win that we can get, absolutely, I don't think we're in a position to pick and choose."
Adelaide will name an unchanged side for just the second time this season, with ruckman Jon Griffin overcoming an ankle injury suffered last weekend.
Key defender Nathan Bock has again been ruled out by a groin injury which will extend his absence to three matches.
Creative half-back Andrew McLeod has also been overlooked for another week for a comeback from knee surgery.
But forwards Chris Knights (foot) and Brett Burton (knee) will return from their respective long-term injuries and play in the SANFL this weekend.
