Woosha confident Kerr to stay at Eagles
West Coast coach John Worsfold says a private discussion with Daniel Kerr about his AFL future has him confident the star midfielder is committed to the Eagles.
While the 25-year-old is contracted to the Eagles for next season, there has been consistent speculation that he wants to be traded to a Melbourne club.
But Worsfold said that was not the message he received from the player himself in a wide-ranging discussion.
"I'm very excited that Daniel Kerr will be a long servant of the West Coast Eagles," Worsfold said.
"You can write that, but odds are you won't because you'll listen to some deep throat or something like that.
"I've had a very good discussion with Daniel and really enjoyed talking to him about where we're heading as a footy club, it's exciting, it's good."
But pressed on whether Kerr had guaranteed he would stay with West Coast, Worsfold was evasive.
"I didn't ask him for any guarantees and we probably wouldn't tell you if he did, he might have actually, it depends what you call a guarantee," he said.
"It was all very positive, very positive ... it would be fair to say that what you read in the papers is very inaccurate from what Daniel says.
"I'm not saying that's inaccurate with what his manager says, but it's a lot different to what Daniel says and you can work out which direction that is."
