Origin tickets for Suncorp snapped up
If this year's State of Origin series goes to a decider, Queensland will have a packed house in their corner for the third game at Suncorp Stadium.
With Mal Meninga's maroons chasing an historic fourth straight series win over NSW, fans snapped up thousands of tickets on Tuesday for game three in Brisbane on July 15 in a few hours.
This year's series will kick off in neutral territory at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium on June 3 with game two at Sydney's ANZ Stadium on June 24.
Queensland Rugby League managing director Ross Livermore said more Origin tickets could become available to the public at a later date once checks had been carried that purchasers had not breached any rules.
Suncorp Stadium's capacity is 52,500.
Livermore said Queensland fans had again proved their state was the capital of rugby league with Melbourne and Sydney still trying to sell out their Origin blockbusters.
Queensland came back from losing the first game 18-10 last year to complete a hat-trick of series wins over the Blues.
