Hundreds farewell 'Tosser' Turner
Hundreds of former and current rugby league greats will attend Monday's tribute for the late Dick "Tosser" Turner.
Turner, 76, died in Brisbane last Monday after a long illness.
His family has allowed former Queensland State of Origin greats to plan a public tribute, to be held at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium from 11am (AEST).
Known as the "Godfather of Origin", Turner was the Queensland team manager for many years.
The Sunday Mail newspaper reports the state government is considering naming a grandstand at Suncorp Stadium in honour of Turner.
Other options are erecting a statue of Turner outside the ground, or naming a dressing room or function room after him.
A medal given to players who make 20 Origin appearances already bears his name.
Monday's event will feature tributes from rugby league legends Wally Lewis and Mal Meninga, as well as poet Rupert McCall.
The one-hour service will be broadcast live and commercial free in Queensland.
