Australian scrum-half Michael Dobson kicked a nerveless 75th-minute penalty to give Hull KR a 20-19 victory over previously unbeaten St Helens in the Super League on Friday.

Sean Long had been successful with a 70th-minute drop-goal to give St Helens a 19-18 advantage, but former Canberra Raider Dobson had the last say as Hull KR clinched their first win of the season.

Both sides scored three tries apiece with Tony Puletua, Gary Wheeler and Paul Wellens crossing for Saints while Ben Galea, Peter Fox and Jake Webster replied for Hull KR.

"It's been a long time since Hull KR have won here," said the team's Australian coach Justin Morgan whose team celebrated a first win at Saints' Knowsley Park stronghold since 1985.

"We've beaten St Helens at home in the past couple of seasons, but I won't get carried away until we put together a run of five or six games unbeaten."

Huddersfield pulled off their first league win at Bradford for 40 years in a 16-12 triumph thanks to tries from Stephen Wild, Jamahl Lolesi and Martin Aspinwall.

Hull ran in four tries through Craig Hall, Richard Horne, Shaun Berrigan and Tom Briscoe in a 28-12 win at home over the Catalans Dragons to move into third place.

Wakefield are in second place after picking up a third win in four matches in a 48-22 win over Warrington.

Wakefield full-back Matt Blaymire grabbed a hat-trick with David Halley (2), Dale Ferguson (2) and Luke George also scoring.
