Dobson's heroics give Hull a boost
Hull KR halfback Michael Dobson was the star of the show as his last-minute drop goal on the siren denied Bradford in a tense 13-13 draw on Sunday.
Bulls' skipper Paul Deacon looked to have won the game for Bradford with only two minutes remaining with a drop goal of his own, only for Dobson to have the last laugh.
Rovers were on course for victory at halftime after establishing a 12-10 interval advantage through two tries from Peter Fox and two goals from Dobson.
But scores from Semi Tadulala and Chris Nero, plus the reliable boot of Deacon put Bradford in front until Dobson's last-gasp intervention.
In Sunday's only other game, Luke Dorn returned to haunt his former employers Castleford as he marked his second Harlequins debut with two tries in a 12-8 win.
Dorn, who scored 19 tries in 26 games for Castleford last season despite the Tigers finishing bottom, scored either side of the break for the London-club.
The Tigers had led through debutant James Evans, but an effort just before the interval and a try seconds after the break by former Sydney Rooster Dorn gave the Quins a two-try lead.
And despite the best efforts of Castleford, who grabbed a late consolation through Richard Owen, they never recovered.
