Grigg wins Rising Star nomination
Carlton midfielder Shaun Grigg is the AFL's round 19 Rising Star nominee.
The 20-year-old has played consistently well for the Blues this year, highlighted by his 25 possessions during Carlton's win over Port Adelaide at Telstra Dome on Saturday.
Grigg, who has played on some of the league's biggest names including Jimmy Bartel, Simon Goodwin and Peter Burgoyne, has missed only two matches this season.
He played five games in his debut season last year, overcoming a fractured shoulder suffered while playing for the Northern Bullants in the VFL.
Grigg, from Ballarat, was Carlton's third selection in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft and recently signed a new two-year contract with the Blues.
