Knights pair to miss start of 2010
Newcastle will start the first two games of the 2010 season without forwards Steve Simpson and Matt Hilder after the pair pleaded guilty to dangerous throw charges at the NRL judiciary on Tuesday.
The two players were placed on report for the incidents which took place against the Bulldogs in the Knights' 26-12 finals defeat at ANZ Stadium last Saturday.
Simpson, who received a grade-one charge, would ordinarily only miss one week, but he had 88 carry-over points that increased his ban.
Newcastle prop Richard Fa'aoso, who was handed a grade-one, careless high tackle charge, also pleaded guilty. But he will not miss any games.
