Shepherd set to face disciplinary hearing
Western Force back Cameron Shepherd is likely to be in hot water with the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) after being hit with a drink-driving charge while on a suspended licence.
Shepherd was charged by West Australian police last month for driving with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit on a suspended licence and is awaiting notification for the date of his hearing.
The ARU Disciplinary Tribunal will consider the courts' determination and will convene if required following completion of the legal process, which is expected to be finalised in the coming months.
In the meantime, Shepherd will continue to train and prepare for the upcoming 2011 Super Rugby season.
ARU protocols require all alleged code of conduct breaches for Australian contracted Super Rugby players be heard by an ARU Disciplinary Tribunal rather than at the provincial level.
