Levi to face hearing after scuffle
Highlanders lock Filipo Levi may face an Australian Rugby Union code of conduct hearing following a bizarre sideline incident after the fulltime hooter in the Super 12 match against the NSW Waratahs.
The second-rower was already scheduled to face a SANZAR judicial hearing in Sydney on Sunday morning after being sent off four minutes into the second half of the Aussie Stadium match.
He and NSW lock Justin Harrison were involved in a brawl with Levi red-carded for allegedly using an elbow to Harrison's head as well as fighting.
Harrison was yellow-carded for his role.
But immediately after fulltime in the match, won 29-28 by the Highlanders, Levi, who was showered and dressed, allegedly approached Harrison on the sideline and pushed the Waratah, with the pair resuming their scuffle.
An investigation is underway into the incident, with Levi likely to be charged with misconduct and face an Australian Rugby Union code of conduct hearing.
The earlier red-card meant an automatic SANZAR hearing, chaired by Terry Willis with Kim Garling and Mick Mathers making up the judiciary.
Dennis Wheelahan is the designated disciplinary officer investigating the sideline incident.
