Emma Randall steers Rangers home
Emma Randall ensured two-time defending WNBL champion Dandenong remained undefeated this season with a record-breaking effort against the Lynx in Perth.
Randall scored 26 points and pulled down a mammoth 25 rebounds, the third highest individual return in league history, in Dandenong's 103-51 thrashing of Perth (4th; 3-3).
The win took the Rangers to 5-0 for the season as they attempt to become the third team to win three straight WNBL championships, joining the defunct Nunawading Spectres (1986-1989) and Adelaide (1994-96).
Randall finished just behind Rachael Sporn (27) and Trina Roberts (26) for most rebounds ever in a single match, both of which were set in 1989.
The Rangers were backing up from Friday's hard-fought 81-73 road victory over Adelaide (6th; 3-5).
The Fellas led 27-18 at quarter-time, but eventually ran out of steam.
Jacinta Hamilton paced the Rangers with 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting, while Jennifer Screen led Adelaide with 23 points.
Adelaide then rebounded with a resounding 107-55 annihilation of the AIS (8th; 0-5) on Sunday behind a 31-point haul from Opal Laura Summerton.
"We felt we let go of a big chance against Dandenong on Friday night," Adelaide coach Chris Lucas said.
"So we were determined to have a good game this afternoon."
