Kings pulverise Pirates
The Sydney Kings had a crushing 101-71 victory over national basketball strugglers the Hunter Pirates at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.
A week after suffering their first loss of the season - an 88-86 defeat by Wollongong - the Kings stretched their unbeaten run away from home to six games.
In fact, the last time the Kings have lost an away game was on February 1 last season against the West Sydney Razorbacks.
The Kings meet the Melbourne Tigers on Saturday night and then travel to Wollongong to take on the Hawks on December 6 before returning home for a derby with the Razorbacks on December 10.
Tonight's victory improved the defending champions record to 11-1, while the hapless Pirates slumped to 1-9.
Sydney power forward and early MVP favourite Matt Neilsen took to the court for the 216th time to break Damian Keogh's record for the most appearances for the Kings.
And the 25-year-old celebrated the milestone in style.
Nielsen was virtually unstoppable on the way to a double-double.
He landed 12 from 18 from the field for 26 points and pulled in 10 rebounds, despite sitting out the final quarter.
