Collins axed, Patfull re-signs at Lions
Brisbane's disastrous 2010 season has claimed its first high-profile victim, with Michael Voss's right-hand man Dan Collins parting ways with the AFL club.
Collins, the club's chief operating officer of football, joined the Lions in 2008 but came under increasing scrutiny this season as Brisbane finished a lowly 13th.
The four-time Olympian reportedly fell out of favour with some players during the season as the club implemented a raft of new high performance strategies.
The Lions received a dose of good news on Friday, with 25-year-old defender Joel Patfull re-signing with the club.
Patfull, snared with pick No.56 in the 2005 national draft, has become a key cog in Brisbane's defence, playing 21 games this season to bring his career tally to 99.
