Collins 'set to quit Carlton presidency'
Carlton AFL club president Ian Collins is set to step down from the position, it has been reported.
Collins would vacate the presidency at the club's board meeting next Tuesday night, the Seven Network reported.
Health problems were said to have prompted the decision, with Collins having had a heart attack and broken leg within the past 12 months.
Collins was not able to be contacted and the Seven Network reported he had said he could "neither confirm nor deny" the report.
Collins, who is also the chief executive of Telstra Dome, took over the Carlton presidency from John Elliott after a bitter election campaign at the end of 2002.
He has faced pressure in recent months over the Blues' poor financial plight, with the club $7 million in debt.
