Krakouer's walk-out disappoints Port
The way Nathan Krakouer has turned his back on Port Adelaide has disappointed his AFL teammates.
Krakouer appears set to join the new AFL club Gold Coast, but could also return to his native Western Australia.
Krakouer's manager has told Port the creative defender is leaving the Power - but so far, has refused to say where he wants to go.
The nature of the 22-year-old's departure from Port has bewildered his teammates, says Power defender Troy Chaplin.
Krakouer's manager told a Melbourne newspaper on Wednesday that the half-back was leaving Port.
But Krakouer on Wednesday morning told Port's football operations manager Peter Rohde he had yet to decide his future.
Hours later, his manager told Rohde that Krakouer would be leaving Port - but the club has yet to receive written confirmation.
"The way his manager has probably dealt with it was a little bit disappointing," Chaplin said on Thursday.
"I think the club probably deserved a little bit more."
WA-born Krakouer has played 40 games for Port but only seven this season due to ongoing groin injuries.
Krakouer had been rumoured to be joining the Gold Coast since early this year.
"It has been on the cards for a while but you don't know what he's thinking," said Chaplin, adding the speculation had effected Krakouer's form this year.
"His decision has probably been made for a couple of months now, he kept his cards close to his chest."
