Fevola out for rest of season
Brendan Fevola has played his last game for the Brisbane Lions this AFL season, as he won't play again in 2010 because of a groin injury.
The Lions confirmed on Tuesday Fevola had torn his groin muscle during last Saturday night's loss to Melbourne at the Gabba.
The injury would sideline Fevola for about four weeks, which means there is not enough time for the full-forward to resume as the Lions cannot make the finals.
The Lions sit second-last on the ladder with four rounds remaining, as they have lost 13 of their past 14 games.
Their defeat to Melbourne was their eighth in succession.
Fevola booted 48 goals from 17 games in his debut season for the Lions after being traded from Carlton last year.
To add insult, Fevola was fined $3000 for misconduct, after he pleaded guilty to putting Melbourne's Colin Garland in a headlock during the first quarter.
