The Brisbane Lions have suffered a late blow ahead of their clash against in-form Fremantle with ruckman Mitch Clark ruled out.

Clark injured his groin during the Lions' final training session on Friday morning, forcing them to call in Cheynee Stiller.

The change means Brisbane will go into the Gabba encounter with just one specialist ruckman, Matthew Leuenberger, who has a massive task against Dockers' big man Aaron Sandilands.

In better news for Brisbane, coach Michael Voss confirmed full-forward Brendan Fevola would definitely play despite a heel injury.

Dockers' coach Mark Harvey admitted he would look closely at the fitness of several players who were carrying niggles following their bruising victory over the West Coast last weekend.

Defender Alex Silvagni did not fly from Perth with the team.
